Perbedaan Faktor-faktor Pemberian Asi Eksklusif di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Poncol dan Puskesmas Candilama Kota Semarang

Based on the SDKI 2007 data that of all babies under 6 months of age in Indonesia is only 32% who received exclusive breastfeeding. The data from Semarang City Health Department the year 2011, working area Poncol Puskesmas has the highest coverage of exclusive breastfeeding, amounted to 72.27% Candilama Puskesmas and work areas noted as the coverage area puskesmas lowest exclusive breastfeeding, which amounted to 2.23%. This research aims to know the differences exclusive breastfeeding in infants aged 0-6 months in the working area Puskesmas Poncol and Puskesmas Candilama in Semarang City. This type of research used in this study was an observational analytic with cross-sectional approach. Total population of 246 mothers of infants and total sample are140 mothers of infants. The results of the bivariate analysis showed there is difference in the status of exclusive breastfeeding (p=0,0001), level of education (p=0,035), type of employment (p=0.0001), income level (0.001), family support (p=0.013), and the role of fathers (p = 0.002) in the work area of Puskesmas Poncol and Puskesmas Candilama. It is recommended that Department of Health take motivation of mothers infants, giving healthy food to breastfeedingmothers, the puskesmas cadres moving in increasing coverage of exclusive breastfeeding and establish lactation classes for mothers breastfeeding
