El eje hormona de crecimiento (GH)/ factor de crecimiento tipo insulina 1 (IGF-1) es clave en la regulación del crecimiento somático en los vertebrados. Existen dos tipos de receptores para GH (GHR1 y GHR2), aunque actualmente no hay consenso sobre su especificidad.
