Gymnastics in teacher training in physical education in the federal universities of Rio Grande do Sul

The study aimed to analyze the development of Gymnastic Educational (GE) in undergraduate courses in Physical Education of the Federal Universities of Rio Grande do Sul (FU-RS). Specifically we sought to: a) analyze GE discipline, also studying the workload, its deployment in other semesters in which they are tendered; b) Identify the content developed in this discipline c) Check if the GE is treated in other activities pedagogical on the Federal Universities of Rio Grande do Sul (fURS), such us projects of teaching, research and university extension, d) examine the curriculum of teachers of GE available on the Lattes platform, focusing on their formations, projects and scientific production in the area. This is a qualitative study with a descriptive-exploratory design, of the multi-case type, and thesample included undergraduate courses in Physical Education of the five FU-RS. As source and instrument data was used documental analysis of Pedagogical Course Projects, and interviews with coordinators of undergraduate courses and the teachers of the GE discipline. Data collection occurred from May to November 2013. From the collected data was used a content analysis with the objective to categorize them by following the instructions Bardin (1977). The study found that the disciplines represent 1.6% of GE of the curriculum researched. Furthermore, this content comprises 3.1% of the total workload of the courses. The unfolding of GE is available in two courses, which belong to the same university. The disciplines are tendered of first to eighth semester. The scientific production related to the thematic is small. It was also possible diagnose the inexistence of teaching and extension projects centered on GE. Was identified that three teachers already possess a PhD. With only a thesis dealt with the GE. No teacher who teaches the discipline of GE coordinates or participates in teaching and extension projects thematising GE. Regarding the research project a teacher is not involved. It was concluded that this low representation of GE in activities of the curriculum surveyed might have direct influence with the reality of the school environment.Sem bolsaO estudo teve como objetivo analisar o desenvolvimento da Ginástica Escolar (GE) nos cursos de licenciatura em Educação Física das Universidades Federais do Rio Grande do Sul. Especificamente buscou-se: a) Analisar a disciplina GE, estudando também a carga horária, seu desdobramento em outras, semestres letivos em que são ofertadas; b) Identificar nessa disciplina seus conteúdos; c) Verificar se a GE é tratada em outras atividades pedagógicas nas Universidades Federais do Rio Grande do Sul (UF-RS), tais como projetos de ensino, pesquisa e de extensão universitárias; d) Examinar os currículos dos docentes de GE disponíveis na plataforma Lattes, focando em suas formações, projetos e produção científica na área. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativa com um delineamento descritivo-exploratório, do tipo multicasos, em que o universo estudado foram os cursos de licenciatura em Educação Física das cinco UF-RS. Como fonte e instrumento de dados utilizou-se análise documental dos Projetos Pedagógicos de Cursos, e entrevistas com os coordenadores dos cursos de graduação e com os professores da disciplina GE. A coleta de dados ocorreu de maio a novembro de dois mil e treze. A partir dos dados coletados utilizou-se análise de conteúdo, com o objetivo de categorizá-los seguindo as indicações de Bardin (1977). O estudo constatou que as disciplinas de GE representam 1.6% dos currículos pesquisado. Além disso, esse conteúdo compreende 3,1% da carga horária total dos cursos. O desdobramento da GE é disponibilizado em dois cursos, sendo que eles pertencem à mesma universidade. As disciplinas são ofertadas do primeiro ao oitavo semestre. Os conteúdos são coerentes com os esperados para disciplina gímnica. A produção científica relacionada à temática é pequena. Também foi possível diagnosticar a inexistência de projetos de ensino e extensão centrados na GE. Efetivou-se que três professores já possuem a titulação de doutor. Sendo que apenas uma tese tratou da GE. Nenhum professor que leciona a disciplina de GE coordena ou participa de projetos de ensino e extensão tematizando a GE. Com relação a projeto de pesquisa um professor não tem envolvimento. Conclui-se que essa baixa representatividade da GE nas atividades dos currículos pesquisados, pode ter influência direta com a realidade do âmbito escolar
