International audienceThis article studies the presence of dreams in the cultural press of Spain in the eighteenth century. Based on 130 dream articles published in 29 diaries of that time, it tries to evaluate the success of this genre. It especially deals with the re-using of the same text, particularly common in the case of dreams. To that purpose, it focuses on the number and the frequency of repetitions, on the absence of acknowledgement of authorship and also on the possible differences which can occur.The aim is also to explain the reasons of this success, combining the utilitarian purposes of the enlightened press with the moral dimension of dreams.
