International audienceMy interest in family relations in Albania started in the mid-1990s when I was doing fieldwork in a small border region inhabited by Muslims and Orthodox Christians. My aim was then to understand how kinship patterns (marriages, genealogical recollections) reflected and simultaneously contributed in the shaping of Muslim-Christian relations.
