En este artículo nos proponemos dilucidar la idea fundamental que subyace a la comprensión ética de la subjetividad humana en la obra de Emmanuel Levinas: se trata de la noción de Creación, noción que nuestro autor toma del monoteísmo y somete al método fenomenológico para fundamentar una de sus teorías filosóficas más originales, esto es, la metafísica de la separación. Para tal fin analizaremos dos nociones filosóficas de las que nuestro autor se vale para justificar que la idea de creación salvaguarda la trascendencia absoluta. En primer lugar, la idea cartesiana de lo Infinito que desborda todo pensamiento.
