International audienceAbstract: This article examines the way in which aspectuality is realized with gesture and prosody in second language (L2) learners' discourse. Our corpus encompasses five gesture forms (pointing, presentative, time-boundary, targeted displacement, illustrator), which, in combination with intonational and linguistic elements, constitute utterance discourse structure. The gesture-relating aspects identified are: 1) duration with or without boundaries; 2) duration as a block of time or a flow of time; 3) movement with or without a target.
