This thesis deals with the comparison between the differents models of the stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in single-mode optical fibers, especially the well-known intensity model, which neglects the dynamics of the acoustic wave due to its short decay time (typically 7 ns in silica), and the coherent three-waves model which allows antiStokes energy tranfers from the Brillouin wave to the pump wave.Their respective theoretical predictions, as well as long time numerical simulations, are systematically confronted to the experimental behaviour of a Brillouin fiber ring oscillator.It appears that the intensity model is likely to give qualitatively wrong results as soon as the Stokes amplitudes becomes higher than the pump amplitude, or a...
