In the last decade nuclear physics research has found, with the observation of phenomena such as multifragmentation or vaporization, the possibility to get a deeper insight into the nuclear matter phase diagram. For example, a spinodal decomposition scenario has been proposed to explain the multifragmentation: because of the initial compression, the system may enter a region, the spinodal zone, in which the nuclear matter is no longer stable, and so any fluctuation leads to the formation of fragments.
