This work focuses on the development of a quantum cascade laser spectrometer (QCL) in the mid-infrared for applications in spectroscopy and frequency metrology. The main objectives were firstly to lift the strong constraint that is the weak spectral range accessible to the CO2 laser, but also to increase the low laser power available to our spectroscopy experiments. This new instrument interest directely the experiences developed in our group “a parity violation effect in chiral molecules” and “the determination of the Boltzmann constant by spectroscopy laser”.In this thesis, we characterized the intensity noise, the frequency noise and the line width of the free-running QCL source.
