Introduction: The objective of this thesis was to study the association between tobacco smoking and occupational exposure to asbestos and crystalline silica with the phenotypes of lung cancer. The second objective was to assess the effect modification of the association between tobacco smoking and the phenotypes of lung cancer by occupational exposure to asbestos or to crystalline silica.
