During extrusion and injection moulding of composites, natural fibres suffer of entanglement phenomena in the polymeric matrix. Consequently the fibre waviness lead to lower mechanical properties of the composites than those expected on the basis of predictive models application. In fact the most widely used models for the estimation of the interfacial shear strength (IFSS) do not consider this phenomenon.
