El desarrollo reciente de la tecnología educacional permite generar interacciones multi-touch que han abierto nuevas fronteras en la educación de las matemáticas. La literatura en el campo de la neurociencia, de la psicología del desarrollo y de la educación matemática indica que el uso de los dedos para contar y representar números y para otras cosas más básicas, puede tener un efecto positivo en el desarrollo de habilidades numéricas.
