Exhaustive knowledge of the long history of some areas of northern Arabia, as that of the history of the oasis of Taymāʾ, is important for reflecting on the relationship between the north and the south of the Arabian Peninsula in pre-Islamic times. In particular, the relations between the two regions during the most ancient phase of the Ancient South Arabia (ASA) history (i.e. the end of the 2nd and the early 1st millennium BCE) will be presented in the paper. The relationship between South Arabia and the Near East beyond Arabia is more complex than I myself once though.
