Thrombocytopenia (TCP) is generally associated with blood loss and typical signs on the skin or mucous membranes. Seventy-five dogs with reduced or inadequate platelet count were collected. The most frequent specific clinical signs were pale mucous membrane, melena and petechiae in both countries and related to the severity of TCP. In the diagnostic plan for each dog coagulation profile, bone marrow cytology, urinalysis, and serum electrophoresis were mostly used in Pisa and coagulation profile, ultrasound, radiology, and urinalysis were mostly assessed in Lyon.
