Replacing each multi-input single-output (MISO) fuzzy rule by an equivalent collection of single-input single-output (SISO) rules effects a considerable saving in computation time. In this paper, we show that the conclusion inferred from a MISO rule can be computed as either the union or intersection of the conclusions inferred from the equivalent SISO rules depending on whether the fuzzy implication operator is non-increasing or non-decreasing with respect to its first argument. This is of the utmost importance in fuzzy reasoning applied to fuzzy systems with several MISO rules
