Fast Spectrum Nuclear Reactors are a long term solution for energy production, as they can be used to recyclePlutonium as well as utilize the entire stock of depleted Uranium. However, in order to raise the safety level of thistype of reactor to modern standards, innovative solutions have been applied to improve the natural behaviour of thecore during incidental transients by increasing the duration of the grace period, or core fusion safety margin.
