INTRODUCTION: Exercise is considered one of the cornerstones of diabetes treatment, and several studies have demonstrated that exercise alone has clinical benefits, such as improved insulin sensitivity, reductions in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and increased peak oxygen consumption (VO2peak).
