Empathy is clearly the characteristics that is desirable in making and maintaining good interpersonal relations. We have adopted, in this paper, the holistic understanding of empathy following M. Kaźmierczak, M. Plopa, S. Retowski (2007), based on the theory of M.H. Davis (1999). We used standardized -by these authors- the empathic sensitiveness scales and we verified the level of empathic sensitivity among students and colleges from the area of the Silesian and Małopolskie voivodeships (sample N = 577).
