Add to ORKGThe aim of this article is to identify and to present how literary motives of memory and oblivion function in Maryla Wolska’s poetry. Besides her great imagination, she was living in family with great traditions, a sense of patriotic duty and artistic connections. That is the reason why her biography and poetry build a frame of incessant references to the past. Literary motives in this article are presented in this paper in view of the interior sphere of feelings, beliefs, memories, art (especially synesthetic imagery) and mystery (the use of understatement), not only in the meaning, but also in the structure of literary work.
