Every year several thousand people in France are afflicted by cancers of the oral cavity. Related treatments lead to heavy side-effects and have a considerable effect on the quality of the oral and therefore overall life of patients. Through a study, this thesis seeks to determine the extent of the impact on a patient’s physical functions (mastication, swallowing, phonation and salivation) as well as on their psychology, following radiotherapy treatment, prior to and following the insertion of a removable prosthesis. At this stage of the study, 19 patients have responded to the GOHAI questionnaire, prior to insertion of the removable prosthesis revealing significant impairment to the physical and psychological state of the subjects.
