International audienceCombining oralist and neo-analystic approaches, the paper examines how the Homeric Hymn to Aphrodite transfers the formulaic and narrative model of the heroic aristeia to the tale of Aphrodite's seduction of Anchises. The goddess is assimilated in detail first to the triumphant warrior then to the dying hero as she conquers erotic victory over Anchises but then submits to the will of Zeus.
