Benign Chondroblastoma

The tumor now generally designated as benign chon-droblastoma was given that name by Jaffe and Lichtenstein in 1942 19 and since that time most authors have agreed that the tumor is usually benign 3.iO.11.i4.17.i8.24-27.31.37, However, several authors suggested that the tumor may occasionally recur after local excision 4.a.7.23.29.3O.:ta.38.39, and others s.ia.iii.22.3o.3:3.:t4.:i reported that some chondroblas-tomas were malignant and often resulted in the death of the patient. Numerous authors discounted the existence of this malignant type of chondroblastoma and interpreted these reported tumors as primary malignant sarcomas 5,u.2224.35#{149} tomas turned up two more cases with me-tastases 1,2,9,aO,21.28,3i In view of the rarity of the tumor and controversy over whether pulmonary metastases can occur from a ‘ ‘benign ’ ‘ chondroblastoma, we report the followin
