Purpose: Post-surgial adhesion formation can result in sig-nificant morbidity and mortality. In this study, we evaluated the ability of O-carboxymethyl chitosan (O-CMC), another chitosan derivative generated by carboxymethylation of chitosan's oxygen centers, to reduce postsurgical adhesion development.
