Dysplasia epiphysealis hemimelica was first reported as tarsom#{233}galie by Mouchet and Belot in 1926. In 1950, Trevor reported the cases of ten patients, calling the lesion tarsoepiphyseal aclasis, and Fairbank described fourteen ad-additional epiphysis, with the characteristic medial or lateral distribution.
