The need for a "career consciousness throughout the educational system " was defined as necessary if comprehensive programs, early childhood through adulthood, were to evolve within educational institutions in New York State. This report summarizes the activities undertaken by the Cornell Institute for Research and Development in Occupational Education in cooperation with the Bureau of Inservice Education, State Education Department in developing a statewide strategy to implement the Career Education concept.
