The double-chambered right ventricle is a developmental cardiac anomaly in which aberrant muscular bands obstruct the body of the right ventricle dividing it into a high-pressure proximal chamber and a low-pressure distal chamber. Grant, Downey, and MacMahon (1961) considered that the obstruction, which is situated at the start of the outflow tract adjacent to the moderator band, is caused by hypertrophy of the oblique component of the bulbar musculature.
