As the disastrous effects of climate change and other forms of eco-destruction become increasingly evident, green criminology grows in importance as an area of inquiry. These texts are three among a large and growing number of contributions but they serve nevertheless to exemplify this area of criminology as a rapidly maturing and vital branch of the discipline. The collection edited by Walters, Westerhuis and Wyatt contains some excellent theo-retical essays on the nature of environmental crime and harm, on the role of global capitalism as a major offender, case studies of the management—or lack thereof—of e-waste disposal, wildlife trafficking, carbon trading fraud, chemical pollution. There are some highly relevant discussions concerning the dynamics of regulation and enforce-ment including the role of international non-governmental organizations (NGos) and victims organizations. For those seeking an introduction to the general themes and scope of green criminology, this collection serves as an excellent introduction.
