A NEW TEACHING TECHNIQUE FOR CHEMISTRY

A new technique described as computer augmented lectures (CAL) is being used at the University of Texas at Austin. It,involves the integration of on-line, interactive, time sharing computer terminals and theater size video projectors for large screen display. This paper covers the basic concept, pedagogical techniques, experiments conducted, technical hardware specifications, programing languages used, and the economics involved.
