This study was designed to examine changes in level of actualizing among counselor trainees at the Master’s degree level as measured by the Personality Orientation Dimensions (POD), following the next-to-the-last course in Counseling and Student Personnel Services. Differences between pretest and posttest raw scores were significant for 4 of 13 POD scales. All changes were in the direction of hypothe-sized greater actualizing. It was concluded that the POD was sensi-tive to changes following the present counselor training program and that the changes suggest a greater adherence to actualizing concepts following such a program—an outcome that could be interpreted as reflecting some degree of support for its potential construct validity. THE Personal Orientation Dimensions (POD) (Shostrom, 1975) has been introduced as a refinement and extension of concepts of actualiz-ing first measured by the Personal Orientation Inventory (POI) (Sho-strom, 1963). A major finding resulting from use of the POI in a variety of settings is the sensitivity of the instrument to changes following various treat-ment programs (Knapp, 1976; Knapp and Shostrom, 1976).
