International audienceThe building sector is a major contributor in the overall environmental burden, regarding energy and material resources but also pollutants and waste. Life cycle assessment (LCA) uses a large quantity of data on construction related products and processes in order to better understand the causes and effects chains between decisions, e.g. design choices, and impacts. This communication presents a state of the art in this field, and describes the methodology which is illustrated on a case study. Gaps in the present knowledge are then discussed, and perspectives are proposed like consequential LCA and an extension of the method to the micro-urban scale.Le secteur du bâtiment contribue de manière importante aux impacts env...
