In a previous paper, the parton distributions at small x were obtained by using the hadronic input with a Pomeron cut exchange for the gluon and the sea quark and by intro-ducing an O(αS(Q 2)) term for the point-like parts. Here we extend this approach to the region of large x. We show that the predictions of the gluon distribution, Gγ(x,Q2), and the structure function, F γ2 (x,Q 2), are in good agreement with the OPAL experimental data at large x. The structure function of photons has been investigated with deep inelastic electron-photon (e − γ) scattering.
