Abstract—The midwater trawl is used widely in many oceanic fisheries. In this study, the midwater trawl dynamical behavior was simulated and modeled with the mathematical mechanic equations based on R language platform. A lump-mass and spring method was used to build the physical model. The huge mathematical stiff differential equations were solved by an implicit algorithm. On the R platform, the programming, simulation and visualization of the model were done quickly. The three-dimensional dynamical behavior of the midwater trawl in steady flow was presented successfully and the effectiveness of this method was verified.
