Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR)has become a major component innumerous water resource manage-ment initiatives in Florida and other areas around the world. Despite the reliance on this important management tool, there have been challenges in developing ASR in many areas because of a number of factors, mostly involving less-than-anticipated rates of water recovery and the manifestation of undesir-able water chemistry changes. In some cases, failure to achieve a suc-cessful ASR system has been the result of inappropriate storage zone selection.
