This document contains an executive summary, main report, and detailed results by entry level of education, gender and ethnicity. The report examines the ways in which the State of Maryland economy benefits from the presence of the 16 community college districts in the state. Volume 1 is the Main Report, and Volume 2 includes detailed results. The colleges served an unduplicated headcount of 380,419 students in fiscal year 2002. The Maryland community colleges employed 7,026 full-time and 9,193 part-time faculty and staff in fiscal year 2002, amounting to a total annual payroll of some $507.7 million.
