SUMMARY Despite great scientific advances in medicine, serious problems in the delivery of health services exist today. The physician himself is already deeply involved in this problem. We need a resolution of how medi-cal care can best be distributed and what type physician would be most effective in this regard. Currently available analyses are not totally satis-factory. Granted that we know the type physician to produce, what is the most efficient way to pro-duce him?
