This study surveyed all music therapists identified as working with clients involved in domestic violence to determine as sessment and treatment echniques employed with battering men, battered women, and the children of battered women. Nonmusic behaviors music therapists most commonly as sessed and the music activities or conditions they employed to assess or treat such behavior were reported for the func tional psychiatric assessment areas of behavior, affect, sen sory, imagery, cognitive, interpersonal, drugs, physical well being, and speech.
