A previously healthy 37-year-old woman was admit-ted to our Clinic in June 2007 for acute left homony-mous hemianopsia. Brain Computed Tomography (CT) scan revealed a right temporal-occipital lesion, with mass effect on the surrounding structures. Brain Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) disclosed a large tumefactive right parietal-temporal-occipital lesion, hyper-intense on Fluid Attenuated Inversion Recovery (FLAIR) sequences, with mild peripheral gadolinium enhancement (Figure 1). The haematological and immunological panels were normal, and no infection or tumour markers were found. The patient underwent a stereotactic biopsy of the lesion to exclude a primary brain tumour.
