A membrane transport model is developed and applied to analyze lectrochemical and radiotracer data obtained ur-ing the passage of current. The results of this work provide insight into the processes promoting proton and water trans-port in perfluorosulfonic a id membranes. Specifically, a 1.0M sulfuric acid concentration is shown to yield the lowest wa-ter-transport ates and ohmic losses for the sulfuric-acid, Nation-117 system. The transport of tritiated radiotracer species 3H § and 3HOH, which are present upon the addition of tritiated water to the system, are treated.
