This is an update of the popular first edition pub-lished in 1996. Many reviewers have given the first edition excellent reviews. This text is intended for beginners in psychopharmacology. It succeeds with numerous cartoons, diagrams, and lucid colloquial writing to clearly explain the science and practice of psychopharmacology at an introductory level. Al-though the intended audience is not specified, medical students, beginning psychiatry residents, and psychi-atrists needing a refresher course would seem rea-sonable readership.
