Certain micrometeorological properties of the wind structure within a tropical forest region in Thailand are discussed. The forest canopy height is approximately 30 m. Characteristics of the wind and temperature profile within and above the forest and in a cleared area surrounded by forest are derived from data taken along two 50 m towers. Three periods of study are selected for comparison: a two-week period in Jan-uary, 1970 during the cool, dry northeast monsoonal flow; a ten-day period in June, 1970 and a six-day period in September, 1970 during two phases of the warm, moist southwest monsoon.
