Abstract: Absorption machines are becoming an increasingly important alternative to the conventional vapor-compression chillers, due to the possibility of being powered with heat from renewable energy sources, such as solar energy, biomass or others. Most of the current approaches to model LiBr absorption machines are made on stationary conditions, with less attention being paid to the dynamic phenomena inherent to the use of renewable energy sources. A dynamic hybrid thermodynamic model of a LiBr Absorption Machine is developed in this work using Modelica language, pursuing an object-oriented physical modeling philosophy.
