T H E control of tuberculosis must be based on the same general principles that are applicable to the control of all communicable diseases. Since there is no effective means so far developed for immunizing the population against tuberculosis, the efforts to prevent its occurrence must rest largely on limiting the spread of the organism responsible for the cause of the disease.
