Adapting a Tourism Crime Typology: ying Outdoor Recreation Crime

&ing a qualitative aproach, the authors tested a crime ~ p o l o g y developed for tourism destinations in a U.S. Na-tional Forest recreation setting. Specific objectives were to classijrj: the attributes of crime and violence, exanzine the ef-fects of crime and violence on visitor demand, and suggest methods of prevention and recovery. A key modification to the crime typoloa prior to data collection was to anchor it to crime- and violence-activity categories revealed f i m an earlier study.
