Article The Reliability and Validity of the Diabetes Care Profile for Chinese Populations

This study aimed to translate into Chinese the Diabetes Care Profile (DCP), a measure of psychosocial factors and diabetes treatment, and to test the reliability and validity of the instrument within a Chinese population. The English version of the DCP was translated into Chinese following the standard translation methodology with consideration to cultural adaptation. The questionnaire was administered to 313 people with type 2 diabetes in an urban community in Beijing, China. Cronbach’s a coefficient was used to calculate reliabilities, which ranged from.55 to.86 on DCP subscales.
