As an attorney I have provided edu-cational advocacy for students with learning disabilities for over 25 years. Research that identifies cohorts simply as having learning disabilities (LD) is misleading. In this age, when student violence is a topic that occupies the media and our minds, it is irresponsi-ble to draw conclusions based on the study of a broadly heterogeneous pop-ulation known as children with learn-ing disabilities. A cursory review of re-search reveals studies that support a strong correlation between LD and behavior (Wilgosh & Paitich, 1982), others that support a modest correla-tion (Lane, 1980), and still others that indicate that there is no correlatio
