The purpose of this paper was to examine the historical antecedents of development and management of educational resources in Nigeria between 1882 and 2013. This is so because this study will help to see the trends in the historical development and management of educational resources in Nigeria, with a view to make recommendations that can help to improve the management of educational resources in the country. It will also enable the policy makers and the governments at all levels to design appropriate implementation strategies for education in Nigeria.
