Twenty-five oral Haemophilus isolates and five strains of Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans were screened against each other as both producers and indicators of bacteriocin-like activity. Despite examining a total of 900 strain-to-strain interactions, under a variety of incubation conditions, no isolates displayed any indication of bacteriocin-like activity.
