An awropriately-trained labour force is recognized as a major factor affecting the success of the Canadian hospitality & tourism industry. This paper examines the status quo through research obtahedfrom a sample of seniors and faculyy from 17 technical colleges offering two-year diploma programs, as well as from graduates and management working in the industry, in an attempt to determine if the level, 9uaIi&, and content of instruction are sufficient to meet the standards necessary for enhanced personal and professional development.
