Although kaonic atoms provide valuable information concerning the K−-nucleus inter-action at low energies, they cannot fully determine the K−-nucleus optical potential. We demonstrate that K − nuclear bound states, if they exist, can be useful in investigating the K−-nucleus interaction, especially in the interior of the nucleus. In order to show this possi-bility, we calculate the double differential cross sections for (K−, p) using the Green function method. The structure of kaonic atoms has been studied by atomic x-ray spectroscopy, and the observed energy shifts and widths have provided important information on theK−-nucleus strong interaction at low energies.
